If you need ply buy a battery powered track saw and have your cut list and break sheets down in the parking lot. Did that to haul in my WRX a few times while i was between pickups. A trailer is the best non-pickup option though. WebTake two pieces of 2x4's. Cut one that runs the width of your bed to where it will fit under your rails. Take the other 2x4 and have it sit vertically on top of the wood, and drill it into a piece. Take the one that runs width wise, and screw it into the top of the vertical piece.

Now as much as I LOVE to save money, I don't want to lose my load all over the road and risk hurting someone, so would you guys even try something like this? Web5.5 feet is too short for most things I use my truck for (which is why i have a 6.5ft bed). I think that most people use their truck as a daily driver/grocery getter so a 5.5ft bed is more than enough.
